Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has projected 7,000 study permit revocations this year. Students affected by these revocations face the risk of deportation unless they successfully appeal. However, the appeal process can be costly, requiring at least C$1,500 with no guaranteed success.

Key Changes to Canada’s Visa Programme

As part of its efforts to curb illegal migration, Canada has introduced significant modifications to its visa programme. Border officials now have expanded authority to cancel temporary resident documents, including electronic travel authorisations (eTAs) and temporary resident visas (TRVs).
